Designer How-To Video

Before using our designer, here's a quick how-to guide of the features.

The DTF printing proccess

Direct-to-Film (DTF) is a new innovative transfer technology that garment decorators and promotional product suppliers have been waiting for; eco water-based inks; no pre-treatment required, soft feel, durable and suitable for cotton, polyester, performance fabrics, workwear, pique fabrics, canvas, leather, denim and lots more, all regardless of garment or item colour.

The DTF transfers offer strong vibrant colours. Excellent washing durability and stretchable properties. Lowest cost per full and single colour digital transfer print ever. Apply all transfers using a traditional heat press. The DTF digital printers simplify the production of transfers without the need for screens or cutting and weeding whilst offering a precise colour gamut for complex and intricate multi-colour designs.

For those considering an affordable and reliable alternative to DTG, but prefer the look and feel of textile inks, DTF technology is exactly what you are looking for. This new technology “Bridges the Gap” between DTG, screen printing and traditional transfer printing methods.

Not only are the DTF transfers suitable for full colour transfer onto cotton (combed, ring spun, organic & twill). But also polyester, poly-cotton, performance & sports fabrics. And also canvas, denim, cork, leather, polypongee, jute, high visibility clothing, PPE and lots more.

Supplying files for Embroidery

If you already have your files set-up for embroidery we would need the stitch file as a .emb file. If you don’t have it set-up we can arrange to digitise it for you for an initial set-up charge, ideally we need your logo as a vector PDF file or high resolution JPEG so it retains the quality when converted.

Supplying files for Embroidery

We want the same thing that you want. We want your graphic files to print correctly first time and look like you meant them to. Below are the minimum file supply essentials you need to follow for most items for business printing. However we offer a vast range of printing and promotional items so please enquire for the exact specification required. If you unsure about supplying, we can amend your artwork and make it print ready, which may be subject to a small cost.

Files(s) must be supplied as PDF/X compliant PDFs (at the correct size
and proportion of your order)

3mm Safe Area and 3mm Bleed must be used (3mm within the printable area to ensure nothing is cut off when guillotined)

File is supplied 1-UP CENTRED on a page (if you are ordering double sided, a 2-page PDF would be preferred) Our automated imposition software will ‘grab’ the image from the centre of the page, meaning Uncentered images or more than one on a page will be cropped

All colours are only CMYK (no Pantones or RGB)

Any tint must have at least 8% value to be visible on the print.

All fonts are converted to curves or outlines (otherwise fonts may be substituted by our press when printed with unusable results)

Images are at least 300dpi resolution (anything less may look ‘okay’ on screen but will print pixelated or ‘blocky’)

Any layers, transparencies or editable forms are flattened before creating your PDF
